Learn how to make easy homemade pizza dough at home like a pro with simple step and ingredients. This homemade pizza dough recipe has a crisp, light and chewy. Pizza dough is the foundation and every great pizza begins with a great pizza crust. Some like thin and crisp pizza crust, while others prefer thick and soft pizza crust. Pizza dough is a yeasted dough which requires active dry yeast. Make sure to check the expiration date on the yeast package. Yeast that is too old may be expired and won’t work.
All pizza dough starts with the same basic ingredients: flour, yeast, water, salt, sugar, and olive oil. I recommend using a kitchen scale to measure out the flour amounts by weight. - In a small bowl, stir together 294 ml warm water (105-110˚F), 1 tsp coconut sugar, and 1/2 tbsp salt then sprinkle the top with 1 tsp active dry yeast then stir. Let it sit for 5 minutes until the yeast is dissolved.
- Measure 400gr all-purpose flour in a large mixing bowl and make a well in the center. Pour yeast mixture into the center then stir with a firm spatula until the dough comes together. Knead by hand 3 minutes.
- Transfer dough to a floured surface, knead again for about 5-10 minutes. Knead it until it becomes smooth and not sticky. Adding a little extra floured may be required to achieve the perfect consistency.
- Transfer dough to an oiled bowl.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise at room temperature 4-5 hours or until doubled in size.
- Transfer dough onto a floured surface and divide in half and form a ball.
- Knead into a smooth dough, adding extra flour if needed.
- Roll dough into your desired shape.
- Spread on desired pizza sauce and toppings. I put tomato sauce, vegan cheese, onion, cherry tomato.
- Bake at 550˚F for 8-10 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Serve with a little more olive oil, and basil leaves. Enjoy!

You can make two pizzas, or make one and freeze one. The dough keeps great in the freezer, just be sure to bring the dough to room temperature again before rolling out.
